Autonomy Systems Engineer
As Kodama's autonomy systems engineer, you will manage the system architecture of our forest restoration solution. This includes optimizing site connectivity and communication, selecting sensors, and defining semi-autonomous operations. You will influence every aspect of Kodama's in-forest autonomy stack and serve as a mentor for the rest of the engineering team.
Responsibilities
Developing forest autonomy systems serving as “chief engineer”
Delivering usable and/or demo-able products on a weekly basis
Establishing feedback and insights from simulation, on-equipment, tele-operation, and integration testing
Performing physics, dynamics, and data/statistical analysis
Analyzing system architecture for tradeoffs
Creating an agile development environment
Leading FMEA and design reviews
Leading and mentoring
Basic Qualifications
End-to-end systems engineering experience and capability in analysis, requirements development and V&V
Effective in communicating complex concepts and driving resolutions
Ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways
Extensive results and data analysis
Experience with creating software, scripts and queries with multiple languages (SQL, Python, Matlab, C++, etc.)
BS in Robotics, Systems, Computer Science, Electrical, Software, or equivalent
Bonus Point Qualifications
Software and hardware test development
Creating software integration and/or unit tests
Automated dashboards fusing test results and data from simulation and on-equipment sensing
Development and production version control (git or equivalent)
Safety Analysis experience on complex safety critical systems
MS/PhD in Robotics, Systems, Computer Science, Electrical, Software, or equivalent
