Operations Lead
You will drive operational excellence across forest restoration by spending time on-site studying existing operations and working with the engineering team to implement software and hardware tools. You will develop benchmarking standards for existing operations and measure the improvements you implement. You will also build relationships with our partners and be responsible for the experience and adoption of Kodama’s products and services.
Responsibilities
Become deeply familiar with the operations of our forest restoration partners and establish rapport with the forest thinning crew
Manage data collection and analyze the efficiency of forest operations
Implement best practices such as lean manufacturing
Work with the engineering team to evaluate concepts and ideate methods of improving operational efficiency
Ensure that Kodama equipment is operating properly in the forest
Build relationships with other forest thinning companies, identify top candidates for additional partnerships, and act as a liaison between Kodama and partners
This role requires ~75% on-site work to support our forest restoration partners near Sonora, CA
Flexibility to work at various times of the day to support our sites – typical on-site working hours range from 6:00am to 4:00pm
Basic Qualifications
Experience driving operational excellence in a capital-intensive industry
Loves being outside
Excellent communicator who can efficiently describe field challenges and drive solutions
Ability to resolve issues in creative, efficient, and effective
Bachelors degree or higher
Qualification Bonus Points
Ability to speak Spanish (extra points for fluency)
Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles
Comfortable with finance concepts such as NPV, IRR, and discount rate
